Give us your wish list of toys
The toy library needs ideas for novel, cleanable, really fun toys that your kids love or would love to try. Please email your suggestions to cityparktoylibrary@hotmail.com.
Now Open Tuesday Evenings and Friday Mornings!
The City Park Toy Library is now open every other Tuesday evening from 6:30-7:30 pm for all you working parents that would love to come but cannot make the morning time. That means Tuesday Nov 8th, Nov 15, Nov 29, and Dec 13 the library is open.
For those of you wondering where the library is, it is located at 822 9th Ave N, in the basement of the City Park Collegiate. Go in the south doors and down the stairs and there it is. The library is still growing weekly and donations of cleanable toys for children aged 0-6yrs are always welcomed.

Revived and Refreshed
The toy library was affected by a flood last April and the space has to be closed for renovations. This was actually a blessing. It allowed me to focus on the health concerns of my daughter, AND get a freshly renonvated space. The space looks fantastic with new flooring, paint and a wall removed, leaving more space for running around and a new fresh feel.
We are gearing up for September with website repairs, increasing toy inventory and trying to find a solution to the toy storage container problem. Changes for the fall include new hours, and a new registration plan.
New RegistrationToy library registrations will be handled similar to regular community programming. You can register on City Park registration night, September 20th, 6-8pm. Cost will be $20 for a 12 week loan period. This covers purchase and maintenance of the toys.
You can also register at the toy library.
Hours
Fridays 10:00 to 11:30 a.mWe are going to try new hours to see if that suits more families. I understand that the hours will eliminate availability to the working families, on the other hand, you will not have to battle traffic at 4 in the afternoon. Please contact me with any input on hours, or if anyone is willing to volunteer to run the toy library in the evenings, I would be more than happy to work this possibility out. At present, I cannot do two times a week. Contact me by phone or email with your input.
Thanks and I am looking forward to a new and great toy library season!

See our expanded space!
The new playspace is turning out to be great fun. A new craft or colouring page is provided each week and parents are welcome to visit and do the craft with their children.
New members are arriving weekly, so if anyone knows anyone who might want to donate some toys, the toy library is the place. Toys will get enjoyed by many many little people for years to come. Our goal is to reach 300 toys by next June, that means only 5 toys per week.
See the toy database at www.libratu.com for new toys. Upcoming for next week are Playmobil construction trucks. We thought we would try out some Playmobil products from the Giggle Factory to see how popular they will be.

We have expanded
Good news! The city park toy library has now expanded into two more rooms. That means there is space to do some crafts, read some books and have a little play while choosing new toys. It also means there is lots of room to fit more toys in.
If you have good quality toys to donate they would be much appreciated.
You can view the existing toy catalogue online here:
Photos of the new space are soon to come - decorating by little library users is still in progress....look forward to seeing you there!
